On Friday evening (the start of our alumni weekend) a new member of the North Aurora Church came to our vespers program.  Before the vespers started, she asked one of the Alumni Association members why we made a big deal about our high school reunion. He didn't have the time to answer her.  Nor did he have a ready response at the tip of his tongue, and found himself saying, "Come tomorrow and you will see."   Unfortunately the new friend was not able to come to the event but there were approximately 250 of you that did.    And what a blessing it was to "see" why we take the time to organize our get togethers.   First of all some unfinished business.  We made a terrible oversight.  During our roll call we failed to acknowledge the faculty and staff that were present.  Please accept our sincere apology.    A big thank you to all the class coordinators.  It is a tremendous amount of work, especially if you are responsible for part of the program.  Our honor classes for next year are '40, '50, '60, '70, '80, '85, '90,and '00. We will be looking for coordinators soon.  Please volunteer.  It will make our work easier.     Now back to what makes BVA Alumni Weekend so special.  This is where words cannot do justice, but we will give it a try--friendships, hugs, words of encouragement, tears, regrets expressed, experiences shared, our blessed hope, the tie that binds, disappointment (someone came hoping to see some of his class mates but not one showed), food, embarrassment because you can't remember your classmate's name, laughter, pictures, .....you name it, its all there.  Thanks for coming back and making alumni weekend an experience that goes beyond words.   By now many of you have seen pictures via facebook, etc.  Here are some more taken by Don Rhodes who did a wonderful job:   The BVA Alumni Association would like to thank those who came out for the weekend.  We can't have these great get-togethers without you and we need your help.  These weekends are not without expense and we are asking for your participation to enable us to keep hosting these events.  Donations can be made out to the BVA Alumni Association.  Send  to: Illinois Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, 619 Plainfield Road, Willowbrook, IL 60257.   Please be generous!  We would like to be able to purchase a computer with which to maintain the database.
